CT|One offers the ability for multiple diagnosis codes to be associated with a single service via the progress note. This functionality works with the Print HCFA submit method. For all other submit methods a ticket must be entered to update the submit method to allow for multiple diagnosis codes on the claim.

The system diagnosis hierarchy still applies; a diagnosis selected on the progress note (single or multiple) overrides the PM/PS billing indicator on the Diagnosis Form. The multiple diagnoses can be viewed in the charge batch and claim detail using standard workflows.

Set Up

There is a global setting flag DiagnosticCodesForProgressNotes that must be enabled.

Access: Maintenance > Flags

1. Locate the flag.

2. Click the Edit button.

3. Change Flag Value to True.

4. Click Save.

5.    Click the Reset Memory Flags button.

Note:  The ShowDxOnNote flag must also be set to True, this enables the diagnosis field on the Session Information tab of the Progress Note.

Workflow
The multiple diagnosis selection is enabled after the Service Type is selected on the Session Information tab of the progress note.

1.    Click the Codes hyperlink.

2.    The Diagnostic Codes window presents with the client’s active diagnosis codes listed.

3.    Select the diagnosis pointer order from the PTR drop down.

·         A diagnosis can be left blank to exclude it from the service and claim.

·         If an invalid sequence is used, for example only 1 and 3 an error presents.

·         To remove a pointer click in the PTR field and select the delete button on your keyboard.

4.    Click OK.
