Drop-Ins with Placeholders

Did you know you can make a drop-in that uses dynamic patient information?

These are called Placeholders.

There's so much you can do with Placeholders.

Let's take a look at what they can do!

When used in your drop-ins, Bells will switch out the placeholder with the selected patient's information for your scribbles and progress notes.

To use Placeholders, simply type a $ and select the placeholder you want.

Then when you use the drop-in in your scribble or note, anything highlighted in yellow will be replaced with the appropriate patient information.

Placeholders:

  • First name
  • Also known as
  • age
  • he/she
  • He/She
  • his/her
  • His/Her
  • him/her
  • Him/Her
  • Guardian
  • Single Choice
  • Multiple Choice
  • Patient Noun

The last 3 placeholders in the list are not patient specific - i.e they don't substitute with patient information.

The Patient Noun placeholder uses what your organization calls their patient population, such as patient, client, individual or consumer.

Admin Tip: Not only are placeholders super powerful in drop-ins, they can also be used in your Custom Note Section outputs and progress note templates!
