Scriptsure updated their software the evening of 8/9/21.  In that release, the following items pertaining to CT|One were included:

Enhancements

Added validation/alerting to the Notes to Pharmacist to ensure information is filled out in the appropriate fields.

The reason for this change is Surescripts electronic network has identified best practices for this field. To avoid confusion by a pharmacist or a pharmacist missing information, all information related to a prescription should be placed in the correct pre-established fields. For example:

  • Date of Birth should not be added to the Notes to Pharmacist field as this information is already sent with the prescription.
  • Insurance Information should not be added to this field as there are fields for entering in insurance info.
  • Diagnosis codes should not be entered in this field as there is a diagnosis area on the prescription preview screen where you can add a diagnosis.

  • Patient Instructions: Do not enter SIG/Patient instructions in “Notes to Pharmacist”. Instead, use the Directions section
  • Prescriber Info: Do not enter Supervising Physician or Prescriber DEA/NPI in “Notes to Pharmacist”. Instead, select under Current Prescriber or Supervisor Fields

  • Day Supply: Do not enter day supply in “Notes to Pharmacist”. Instead, use the Days Supply field.

  • Quantity: Do not enter quantity in “Notes to Pharmacist”. Instead, use the Quantity section.

  • Substitution Allowed: Do not note if substitution is allowed in “Notes to Pharmacist”. Instead, use the Substitution Allowed checkbox.

The above is not an exhaustive list of disallowed information for the Notes to Pharmacist field.

If a user added information that should not be in the Note to Pharmacist field, when you click Send to Pharmacy, a pop-up alert will indicate items that should not be added to the Notes to Pharmacist field. If a user encounters an alert, they should remove the disallowed text from the field.

For example,

  1. if the pharmacy note includes a date of birth, you'll receive the following alert:
  2. If the pharmacy note includes insurance info:

Added fields for:

  • Payer name
  • Payer Type
  • Card Holder #
  • PCN #
  • Bin #
